How has the recession affected you? Directly or Indirectly

As we know the economy is at it's worst since the great depression. Unemployment rates are at an all time high, and homes are being foreclosed left and right. How has the recession affected you? What is happening in your life now, that wasn't happening before the recession hit?

The recession really hasn't affected me as much as everybody else. At least not yet. I still work at the same job and make the same money so, so far i'm safe. the only thing is that the bosses kinda think they got you by the you know what and try to use the recession as a way to scare you into doing more.

In these dire economic times, I'm fortunate to have a job. I pray for those who have been laid off. I definitely have been saving more money. Opened up a savings and another investment account that I'm not even thinking about. I have a 401K with my company as well and increased contributions there. Now is the time to clean up credit. Paid off the balance on my one credit card and I'm just stashing my money. Looking into the real estate market and establish real wealth via property. Its definitely tough though. I haven't been to a mall in months. My barber hasn't seen me in weeks since I'm cutting my own hair and shaping myself up. Clubs ? Parties ? Yeah, right. Luckily, my girl is on the same page, so she doesn't mind not going out to eat. Haven't been to a restaurant in a few weeks. So we've been "chef-fing" it up, and making it a blockbuster night. It's definitely brutal but in order to maintain in this society you have to learn to adjust to changes.
